20 Best Inspirational Movies for Children in English

This is the first part of the series “20 Best InspirationalMovies for Children”. There are plenty of films to choose from the list of released films in English, till date. So restricting the list to just 20 movies is a tough job. Here is the list of Hollywood movies suitable for children for age 5 or 6+ years, in no particular order.

1.	Finding Nemo	This is an excellent journey of a father son duo to overcome their respective inner fear. A great story to teach how parents should learn to let go when child grows up and also child should listen to their parents.
2.	Cars	Among three part series Especially Part I – This does not mean you should not show him cars part 2 and 3 but this part actually created the base of remaining two parts even if the stories are not interrelated. Part I also tell a beautiful story of what a winner means in real life. This part had actually defined/built up the main character named McQueen who finds the true meaning of family and friends and true meaning of winning.
3.	The Lion King	This is an all-time Disney classic, which tells a beautiful story about love, responsibility, strength and courage. A story based on lion cub and his triumph against all odds is a must see for any child of any age.
4.	E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial	A movie about two children who helped an Alien to escape earth. A nice story with excellent morale of friendship, love and trust beyond earth.
5.	Kung Fu Panda	This is what happens when you are the chosen one but find yourself obese and a complete novice at martial arts. Go ahead to watch its part 2 too. This do show up that talent will show up no matter what.
6.	Forrest Gump	An amazing story about Forrest Gump, while not intelligent, has accidentally been present at many historic moments. Seeing the world through his innocent mind and eyes is real thought provoking.
7.	The Pursuit of Happyness	Yes the Happiness with Y. A story of a struggling salesman when he took custody of his son. This whole story which is inspired from a true real life story is a must watch for any generation.
8.	Ocean Heaven	This is a very rare movie of Jet Li where there is no action at all. Jet Li playing a father been diagnosed with terminal disease tried to teach his Autism son how to survive in this world without him. A great movie to teach independence to someone who does not know how to learn. A movie can make even a strong hearted cry, probably without a single scene of crying.
9.	Space Jam	It’s a classic movie about basketball match between monsters and looney tunes. After which looney tunes kidnapped Michael Jordon and go through rigorous training and triumph at the end.
10.	Horton Hears a Who! (2008)	This is the movie adaptation of Dr. Seuss book with same name. Horton the Elephant against all odds tried to protect a microscopic community from his neighbors who refuse to believe it exists. A hilarious movie with nice message of respecting even smallest thing on earth.
11.	Baby’s Day Out	This is a hilarious movie about a baby’s journey whole day based on the book he read. There are villains too in this movie and as always evil peoples can’t win even from a baby. A movie which my one year son love to watch along with the 7 years old.
12.	Madagascar	Where some loving Zoo animals dream of escaping Zoo and actually did so and landed up in Madagascar. There journey through this unwanted adventure has many underline messages. The most evitable message will be grass is always greener on the other side.
13.	UP	By tying thousands of balloons to his home, 78-year-old Carl sets out to fulfill his lifelong dream to see the wilds of South America. Russell, a wilderness explorer 70 years younger, inadvertently becomes a stowaway. How the whole story came up will blow the mind of children and adult alike.
14.	Dolphin Tale	A lonely and friendless boy finds a hurt dolphin that is caught in a crab trap and untangles her. He becomes very attached to the dolphin when the tail must be taken off to save the dolphin's life. The boy believes the dolphin would be able to swim normally if it was given a prosthetic tail. This movie was inspired by an amazing true story.
15.	Letters to God	A young boy fighting cancer writes letters to God, touching lives in his neighborhood and community. A very touching movie.
16.	Despicable Me	When a criminal mastermind uses a trio of orphan girls as pawns for a grand scheme, he finds their love is profoundly changing him for the better.
17.	The Karate Kid	A handyman/martial arts master agrees to teach a bullied boy karate and shows him that there is more to the martial art than fighting. The theme is good enough to teach any bullying child to learn controlling his anger.
18.	The Boy In The Striped Pajamas	Set during World War II, a story seen through the innocent eyes of an eight-year-old child whose friendship with a boy on the other side of the border started unexpected consequences.
19.	The Bucket List	Two terminally ill men escape from the ward and head off on a road trip with a wish list of to-dos before they die. I believe the theme itself is intriguing enough to watch.
20.	The blind side	The story of a homeless and traumatized boy who became an All American football player with the help of a caring woman and her family. Only recommend if your son/daughter love watching movie as the pace of the movie is bit slow probably best watch during his teen age, but if can be sit through will have many Morales to catch.

Bonus Five

I did not had to struggle much to find five more movies apart from already promised 20 movies. Mentioned below five movies with details mostly from IMDB, that will fit into this extended bonus list. They are the ones who missed the mark and may compete with many of the movies in the above list of 20 movies.

20 Best Inspirational Movies for Children

20 Best inspirational movies!!! There are plenty of movies along with top 10, top 20, top 50 etc. list which will provide the collection of inspirational movies over the internet. If you twist this to create a list of 20 best inspirational movies for Kids of age group of 5 or 6+ and above, then the lists are close to none. A tough task and big responsibility which I believe will take some time to master, so expect some future updates for these lists in this series.

Why creating this list is so tough? What is the basic difference between adult inspirational movies and child inspirational movie list? There are many movies which are quite inspirational for our age, but as we need to create a list for 5 or 6+ years old children, I need to listed down the movies which a kid of 5 or 6+ years will able to understand, relate and feel good about it to actually get inspired from it. Most of the kids of that age love to watch the same movies again and again irrespective of they liked that movie or not whereas we find this kind of repetitive activity boring. In long run when child demands to watch the same movie again and again, then parents usually try to skip the company after one or two watch. This causes the tendency of most parents to put child alone, in terms of watching that particular movie. They may keep an eye on the child but not to that movie. So list must compromise of movies, if needed a child can be left alone to watch.

I started this series for listing 20 inspirational movies for children in Hindi, English and Many other Different Languages, Mostly Indian. All the list will have 20 movies in no particular order. So it will be just a list but not top 20 movie list.

If the language is not listed here in this list, do remember to suggest some movies of that language too, which will satisfy the criteria mentioned above. How to Guide - Learning Programming Language for Better Career

Learning a programming language and making a career out of it are interrelated but not same. Having said that, you may master one language but to grow in your career using that language you need to know more than mastering that language. Which means you may need to expand your horizon for various different tools and technologies apart from that one language you learnt or love to learn. You will also need to enhance your domain knowledge for industry along with your knowledge of software technologies. This is the package which only makes a better career, not the learning or mastering a specific language. Although, one thing is for sure to succeed what so ever technology or language you learn you must be good in logical thinking, analyzing problems, resolving issues and defining algorithms apart from your programming capabilities. 

In terms of learning any language for career, start with the popular ones like C++, Java, SQL or Python. Then expand your horizon of skills specific to that language. E.g. If you choose learning Java then once you learnt that language expand it to J2EE, then to different frameworks based on Java and also to any new technologies based on Java etc. Similarly properly selecting this step will also help in shaping up your career. Another e.g. If you picked to learn SQL then over the period you will gain mastery in it then start learning different aspect of databases like DB tuning etc.. You will find even if the SQL was your start point but once you started expanding the horizon you may shape up your career, say as a database administrator. It’s like starting up the 1000 miles of your career with initial few steps by learning a specific language.

The specific language to choose will be totally depend upon your personal preference and learning interests.  Some people want to go in web development then Java, Python, PHP etc. will be the best start point, some love the DB part then SQL is the absolute start point and for those who wants to dive deep down into OS, Drivers etc. then C, C++ is the start point.

If you are starting up your career, then I will suggest you to learn as many languages or technologies you can. Never restrict yourself to any one of the technology. Once you progress in your career you will know which one you like the most and bend or shape up your career accordingly.

If you have already spent some time in your career, then find out how that technology you are using is now evolved into new form or switch to closely matched skillset in the industry. Also it’s never too late to learn something you feel is in demand now and can also value add to your experience.

In terms of technological future none of us know how it will shape up, so stop worrying about it. If someone say the technology you picked up today will be obsolete in couple of years, then analyses it with your own knowledge and experience before accepting it. I have heard C++ will become obsolete since Java came to picture or any other web technologies ruling the world. Similarly during 2001 bubble burst heard Java will be gone from the marked in couple of years. Nothing happened till date. I just wanted to give you some examples from history to emphasis my point here. That’s why analyzing skill is the surviving skill needed for developer in this industry, not only for benefit of learning technologies but also for your own benefit of defining career path. 

Last but not least for some of the cases you may not need to be master or expertise of a particular language as some of the technologies may need particular language knowledge too where you may not need to be master of that original language but knowing that will only be enough. Sounds confusing? E.g. To learn ABAP, SAP UI5, Machine learning, some data warehousing tools etc. you may need Java as their start point or you may need .Net skills to learn SharePoint etc. So if you pick Java but want to learn SAP UI5 or ABAP then you may not need to master in Java. Although mastering any language even if it’s not going to be used as primary skill for that technology will be beneficial in long run.

I believe I had already named many programming languages, tools and technologies along with the way to learn it for better career. Mythological Story Categorizations

There are so many mythological stories and most of them, if not all are amazing. Among them some of the stories may have different versions for the same story across different part of the country. Mentioned below are the categories in which mythological stories are divided, this may not cover all but definitely most of it. I have not listed the stories from those categories.

Reincarnation Stories – Mythology is full of reincarnation of god, humans or demons. All the reincarnations of Vishnu, Siva, Parvati or any other god do create some amazing mythological stories.

Boon or Curse Stories – Many of the mythological stories are inspired by this category. Where some god, sage or human etc. gave boon or curse to any other god, sage or human etc. do form many fascinating stories. How the boon helped or curse got effected or resolved covers many mythological stories and makes them an interesting reads.

Dynasty Stories – How any popular dynasty been formed and what happed to that dynasty across the generation helped in creating many mythological epics. This induces too many characters which cause too many twist and turns to the story.

Animal Stories – Apart from God, Rakshas and Humans there are different animals who took part in many mythological stories. Animals like Bird, Fish, Snake, Monkey, Squirrel, Lion and Bear etc. are main characters of many mythological stories. Their originations, their role play and how their ends meet do create many touching stories.

Love or Hate Stories – In Indian mythology there are many beautiful love stories so also many hate or revenge stories. How the love originates between two characters and how their love conquered all odds or defeated by hatred or what causes the hatred between two characters and triggers the revenge are quite integral part of mythological stories. Here love can also be between father sons or siblings or between any two characters apart from lovers, so also is the hatred.

War Stories – Last but not least, if any story don’t have the five categories mentioned above will definitely have the war stories. Many mythological stories which project the war between God and Rakshas do falls under this category. The duration of these wars varies and may last for couple of hours to multiple days. This include usage of celestial or non-celestial weapons.
